How to know your exact war weight and decide what to upgrade first- WAR WEIGHT CALCULATOR

Hello Guys, this is Deathstroke back again with some brand new content about war weight post balancing update and what should be your upgrade priority after you have moved to a new townhall. A lot of my friends and my clanmates often ask me how should they go about upgrading their bases now that the clan war matchmaking has been changed to a complete different algorithm. Well, In this post I will try to answer all of them as well as give a full proof way of how to check your war base weight. Let us divide this into 4 categories:

1. What is war weight;
2.  how to calculate your war weight;
3. Myths about war weight and
4.  Your upgrade priority. 

So, Lets begin...

1. WHAT IS WAR WEIGHT?
 to answer this the plan and simple way when your base is selected in the clan war search Supercell calculates the total weight of your Offensive troops,Your spells, your defenses and your walls and find the total war weight of your base and then the total war weight of the clan. Then they match you against a clan which has similar war weight. So the lower war weight your clan has, the easier opponent you will get. 

After the December 2017 Winter balancing update supercell has increased the hitpoints of some of the troops and removed the heal block ability of the inferno towers. 
**ATTENTION* *

Supercell has removed the Inferno Towers’ ability to block any healing effect in the December 2017 balancing Update. However, they have not changed the war weight and are closely monitoring it every now and then – maybe there will be a change to the war weight in the future but right now it’s still the same (Darian has been talking about this here)

HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR WAR WEIGHT?

war weight s are just numerical values allotted by Supercell and you need to keep in mind that these war weights differ for the level of troops, spells, defenses or walls you have and also don't have the same impact on the total war weight like some of them. If you upgrade your freeze spell or your x-bows and keep other defenses low then there is a huge possibility that your war weight will increase a lot and you will be matched against a really tough opponent.

MYTHS ABOUT WAR WEIGHT  

A lot of people ask me about this war weight and today i am going to clear all the myths in their mind.

1. If you add a new defensive troop and just add it in your regular farming village and don't add it in the war base, then  your war weight will not be affected by that defensive troop,
2.  Spell Factory, Dark Spell Factory, Barracks, and Dark Barracks buildings carry no Weight. 
3.  the x-bows and eagle artillery carries the maximum war weight in your base so install them wisely and try to upgrade them as soon as possible as upgrading them doesn't increase a lot from their base war weight at level 1.
4. i get this a lot so this is the answer to all you guys. WITCH has the maximum war weight after the balancing update and maxing out the witch initially may match you against a really tough opponent. 
5. Defenses with splash damages carries a higher war weight than any point defenses.

 WHAT SHOULD YOU UPGRADE FIRST?

When you upgrade to a new townhall it might seem overwhelming sometimes so here is a quick guide on what to upgrade first and why.

1.  Your army camp,clan castle and laboratory has no war weight but allows you to take more and better leveled troops in war so upgrading them should be your 1st priority.
2. The traps are a great option to upgrade as they take a lot of resources and time but don't add up much to the war weight.
3. You research laboratory should never be kept empty. You should always "PLAY TO UPGRADE". the faster you upgrade your troops the better for you.
4. Only upgrade troops in the beginning which you will be using in war and farming. If you are a new townhall 9 and want to learn how to use LAVALOONION then there is no point for you to upgrade the freeze spell(as infernos are Nerf) or the witch as you will not be using them any time soon. 
5. Upgrade Point Defenses (cannons, Archer Towers, etc.) over Splash Damage(mortars,Wizard towers etc) upgrades at all times. Often you can upgrade 6 or 7 Point Defenses for the same Weight added as 1 Splash Damage upgrade.
6. It is my personal recommendation that you upgrade your air sweepers and air defences first as they do not add up much war weight but defends your base in a far better and stronger manner.
